With the finish line in St Petersburg now only one day away, the 18 cyclists taking part in the Actavis Lifecycle Challenge 2013 are determined to continue, ignoring their aching limbs.

Indeed, wirh the majority bandaged and strapped for strains, the danger is that they will push themselves too far.

The team spent Monday night in the delightful capital of Estonia, Tallinn. The sports hall that hosted them did not allow cooking. Plan B would have been to cook in the car park but the gym was nestled up against the ancient city walls and in spite of the 12-hour ride, all opted to go and eat in the picturesque square.

Today is another long day - 239km to Narva, but for one of the female cyclists a smile is guaranteed: her husband - who arrived last night with an earlier group- bought her a rose to welcome her to base, which is now strapped to her handlebars.
