Last Sunday, the production team of the film Three Generations Down took Victoria back in time to portray a bank heist in an English town in 1978.

The scenes shot on Sunday took place around the Astra Theatre and were the fourth day of filming in Gozo. Over 300 people in cast and crew were involved, apart from the hundreds of tourists crowding around the borders of the film set to get a closer look at the action.

The film is building up to be a promising production, involving much local talent right across the age spectrum, creating an unprecedented cultural vibe in Gozo and attracting multiple sponsorships from various companies.

Production started earlier this year, and all cast and crew are taking part on a voluntary basis.

This initiative is adding a new dimension to Gozo’s youth sector and should be a development to look out for during the coming months.

Gozitan film producer Michael Tabone and director Amadeo Bezzina are the guiding forces behind promoting Gozo as a film-making destination.
