Wooden tables and benches were set up by the Mellieħa local council on the rocky part of Għadira, which is shaded by trees and is the designated space for barbecues on the beach. It is only in this area that cooking outdoors is allowed. Listing its investments to upgrade the bay, the council mentioned the installation of festoon lighting along the promenade for evening walks. Accessibility for persons with disability was another initiative and the use of public toilets on beaches, including Golden Bay and Armier, has been extended until midnight.
