A total  of 1,300 cases were enforced by the Lands Authority in its first year, most of which were related to the issue of tables and chairs.

Addressing a seminar organise by the authority, Infrastructure Minister Borg condemned the abuse that takes place in this sector. He commending the initiative taken during the summer by the authority, where it collaborated with the Tourism Authority and the Planning Authority, regarding enforcement on bays.

He also referred to the Bużbeżija case, where the authority evacuated squatters while also releasing a number of animals being kept there without permission, including stolen animals. He said that abuse was not permissible, nor was the use of public land without returning to the people what is due.
