In his letter An Ideal Venue For The NYE Party (January 12), Julian Galea urged the Valletta and Floriana local councils to join forces and to make use of the “beautiful large open area which is both close to Valletta and to Floriana once the bus terminus moves…”

However, without prejudice to any future collaboration between the two councils, and without entering into the merits of the topic in question, the Valletta local council has never offered an apology to the Floriana local council for having (publicly) stated that the Floriana council should never have been granted a permit to organise “Malta’s New Year’s Eve celebration” held in St Anne Street, Floriana.
