Erasmus Mundus is an EU programme which offers high quality graduate courses shared among a consortia of universities in various fields. The Language and Communication Technology (LCT) programme is shared between universities in the LCT Consortium in Germany, Italy, Malta, France, Czech Republic, the Netherlands, China and Australia, each of which coordinates the part of the programme held locally.

One of the main reasons for creating this two-university course is to widen the academic and social experiences of students.

At the University of Malta, the local study programme leads to the award of the M.Sc. in Human Language Science and Technology. It is coordinated by the Department of Intelligent Computer Systems, in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science, the Department of Communications and Computer Engineering, and the Institute of Linguistics.
