Gabriella Farrugia, a student at St Theresa College Girls' Junior Lyceum, was recently chosen as the Maltese participant for the Ruta Quetzal BBVA 2010.

She will be visiting Spain, Portugal and Mexico during June and July.

Ruta Quetzal BBVA is a study trip with the aim of improving the image of Spain and Latin America among youths. This trip offers a mixture of culture and adventure.

In the last 22 years, approximately 8,000 youths coming from Europe, America and countries such as Philippines, China and Morocco have participated.

Participants are selected through a rigorous process to choose the best students from each country. In Malta, the Embassy of Spain is in charge of processing all application forms.
