The budget for 2006 was approved by the House of Representatives yesterday with 28 votes in favour and 23 against.

The budget was presented on October 31 and the estimates were debated over 16 sittings.

The House will not be sitting next week in view of activities linked to the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.
