Ferdinand Buhagiar (The Sunday Times, July 25) is incorrect in saying that PBS did not honour its commitment to transmit 46 games.

In spite of being bound by law to transmit only the matches from the quarter-finals until the final, PBS is proud to have transmitted 47 live matches and one in a delayed manner, which made up over 95 hours of transmission. Furthermore, all these matches were shown without using public funds or taxpayers' money.

PBS is confident that these facts should rectify the wrong impressions given in Mr Buhagiar's letter.
