The write-up on the war memorial (January 4, 2012) has some very vital facts mixed up. The photograph shows the monument which was unveiled on November 11, 1938 and commemorated the dead of World War I.

This was moved to align the road in December 1949 and rededicated by Princess Elizabeth to the dead of the two world wars.

The reference in the text, however, referred to the Commonwealth Air Forces Memorial which is a totally different monument unveiled by Queen Elizabeth II in May 1954.
