The attached sign informs us that low-energy light fittings have been installed in the project, but on closer inspection one realises the fittings installed are not so low energy at all.

Wirt Għawdex was in charge of the project. This organisation has no clue whatsoever what low energy lighting is: they are using 10 metal halide 150W which amounts to a total consumption of 1,500W.

I can’t understand how this project was funded by Eco Gozo and also promoted by them (see the sign erected near the chapel in Għajnsielem) when it is not eco friendly at all.

Wirt Għawdex applied for EU funding through the Ministry for Gozo and funds were granted. But what I do not understand is how the people in charge of these funds do not even follow up the project to see that these funds were invested properly and according to how the project was presented on application. People have the mentality that the funds coming from the EU are falling from heaven while in actual fact it is our money.
