Champions Qormi ended their league commitments in style on Sunday as they trounced Rabat 5-1.

Juan Sarcia opened the scoring for Qormi early on but Rabat drew level on 17 minutes through Shawn Falzon.

Honours were even at half-time but Qormi applied pressure and won four penalty corners early in the second half.

On 51 minutes, Qormi were awarded a penalty stroke and Sarcia got his second goal. The leaders scored again soon after when Jonathan Aquilina netted to give his team a 3-1 lead.

Qormi made it 4-1 through Rudolph Camilleri and they rounded off with another goal when Jonathan Borg scored just before the final whistle.

Young Stars started brightly, taking the lead in the fifth minute. Marvin Vella hit in the rebound after the keeper had effected a save.

After a period of studious midfield play, Hotsticks drew level.

They were awarded a penalty stroke on 30 minutes and Keith Scicluna converted in style.

At the change of ends, Hotsticks had two penalty corners in favour as Ludolf Pasterhoff shot them ahead.

They went 3-1 up from another penalty corner in the 50th minute thanks to Shaun Grima.

Young Stars reacted to try and cut the deficit and Andrew Camilleri came close to scoring on two occasions.
