The finalists for this year’s edition of the Malta Journalism Awards will be announced on Thursday. Submissions are being evaluated by an independent panel of judges, which is totally autonomous, to the point that not even the Institute of Maltese Journalists’ council would know the final results before they are communicated publicly.

In its role as sponsor of the awards, HSBC Malta recognises the dedication of the Malta Institute of Journalists towards the promotion of the journalistic profession as a key driver for Malta’s growth, both locally and internationally.

This was stated by HSBC Malta head of communications Franco Aloisio when presenting the bank’s sponsorship to the awards’ print journalism category.

Institute of Maltese Journalists chairman Malcolm Naudi said: “HSBC Malta’s affiliation with the Malta Journalism Awards has been truly invaluable. Their constant support over many years has helped the institute’s efforts to raise further the level of journalism through these awards.”

The winners will be presented with the awards at the presentation ceremony next month.
