I should like to know if any other people are experiencing difficulties with the new bus card.

My husband’s card was topped up to €26 and only worked on the first day. He has been shoved from pillar to post with no help given.

It may be worth noting that the ‘help’ booth at the Malta International Airport was a pointless exercise. Why aren’t these people equipped to be able to replace faulty cards on request or if necessary post them to a relevant address within days?

On July 25 my husband took the temporary card he had been given (tourist type) to the booth in Valletta. It was very early in the morning but the official was already in can’t-help mode.

We wanted the return of the topped-up original card and when my husband asked for the official’s name he stated that due to “data protection” laws he was not going to give it. Yet he wore an ID tag.

The official was rude and condescending and informed my husband that “we are not living in the 1900s”.

Really? If a card does not work on thesecond day of operation and weeks later has not been amended or given back, then we are living in the 1900s, like it or not.

We want that fully topped-up card back, no excuses, lies or indifference. Neither do we want to pay an extra €2 every day when a card is already almost full.

The chappie in the box who refused to give his name (is it any wonder?) gets a smacking zero out of 10 for customer care.

1900s anyone?
