Unfortunately, many motorcycle accidents take place in Malta, some fatal. Among the seriously injured is James, who was close to death after his motorbike went out of control at Dingli Cliffs several months ago.

After a medical drama, he is still alive but paralysed from the waist down. Naturally, his family and friends have taken to prayer to see him walk again one day. He’s just out of hospital hoping to live the life of a paraplegic.

Please join us in prayer to God Almighty for a miraculous cure for James through the intercession of Blessed Nazju Falzon, the young Valetta lawyer living in Strait Street, Valletta in the middle of the 19th century who heroically expressed his ardent love for God and his fellow men by employing his talent for English, at a time when it was not so commonly spoken in Malta, to share his faith in Christ with over 600 British servicemen passing through Malta during the Crimean War.

Among the surnames of servicemen he baptised or catechised and registered at the Jesuit church, in Valletta some of who may have married Maltese girls, are some we still come across in Malta today: Armstrong, Andrews, Bell, Brimmer, Bray, Chambers, Cross, Corbett, Clark, Cooper, Dougall, Dyer, Ellis, Flynn, Green, Hughes, Holland, Jones, Jackson, Johnson, Kingswell, Lowell, Miller, Mortimer, Orr, O’Flahatery, Perry, Smith, Sullivan, Stevens, Sergeant, Turner, Woodhouse, Walsh, Watson and White.

Additionally, the undersigned Christian Stringer, recently received into the Catholic Church, was intrigued to be shown his own surname on the list, maybe as he knows he had a Greek grandmother.

So if you do have or know of such surnames in your family present or past please join in widening the circle of prayer so that, through the heavenly intercession of Blessed Nazju Falzon, James will one day walk again.

Indeed, it is another miracle that is awaited through Blessed Nazju Falzon so that, one day, he may be declared a saint.
