The Spring Hunting Out (Shout) today launched a campaign 'We are all ambassadors for the environment' at the university to ensure students had all the information they needed to make an informed vote in the April 11 referendum.

“We encourage university students not to be fooled by slick campaigns which are only out there to confuse the public,” first year student Celine Talbot said.

The real issues in the referendum, she said, were birds and sustainability, not the EU, derogations or rights.

She urged students to vote 'No', so that they would never have to live in a place where there were no birds left to protect. “Hunters talk about balance, and indeed, a real balance would mean not shooting migratory birds on their way to raise their young.”

From March 25 to 27 students will be organising information sessions and events on campus.
