Malta last year registered the highest number of jobs from among all Eurozone countries and a second consecutive 4.2 per cent increase in the number of people working, the government said quoting Eurostat.

It said this was the highest growth registered by Eurostat since it staring collecting Malta’s statistics 20 years ago.

The number of people working last year increased to a record 186,850. This meant that 17,740 jobs were created during this administration.

The government noted that, according to Eurostat, the increase in the past two years was equivalent to that of the last legislatures five years.
