We do not have a right to govern. We present to the people our results, proposals and an economic track record that speaks for itself. Then I respect the verdict of the people.

That was the reply given by Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi when answering Reno Bugeja’s question: given the accomplishments of this government you speak about do you think the people are ungrateful?

Although the name Lawrence Gonzi has now become suggestive of tangible results, this final electoral decision is not a question of who deserves to be elected. It is simply a matter of what we stand to lose if we decide to change the direction in the prevailing circumstances when – certainly – it is not the right time to venture into the unknown. It is rather the time to consolidate.

Therefore, if Gonzi is not confirmed as Prime Minister it is our quality of life that would be at stake. On the other hand, if the people’s option is the Nationalist Party they will be voting for a formidable team led by Gonzi and his deputy leader, Simon Busuttil, who pledged to address the PN customer service issue while proceeding with the implementation of the PN proposals for progress.

To vote PN is to vote for a secure future with a statesman whose leadership and foresight translates into proven success at the national and international level in the best interest of all.
