Reference is made to the write-up “PL rebuked, not fined, on unsolicited e-mails” (March 6).

It is to be pointed out that, through my lawyer, Daniela Mangion, months ago I lodged a complaint with the Data Protection Commissioner as I was receiving unsolicited mail from the Labour Party on my private e-mail address. The crux was that although, after receiving the first unsolicited mail, I had immediately unsubscribed, more unsolicited mail arrived in my private e-mail address from the PL – hence the reason for what I considered to be a justified complaint.

The Data Protection Commissioner yesterday forwarded to my lawyer (who immediately forwarded the decision to you) his decision regarding my complaint declaring that the PL had, in fact, breached data privacy laws in my regard and others. I must, however, show my disappointment that the Commissioner found a reason why the Labour Party should not be fined.

I hope I will not receive any more unsolicited mail and/or text messages from the PL and/or from any of its candidates.
