Ghaxaq Mayor Emanuel Vassallo has almost doubled his first count votes, being elected from the first count this morning with 747 votes. Three years ago the Labour Mayor got 391 votes.

Also elected on the first count was Labour's Joe Abdilla with 514 votes. Rose Agius, PN, was elected on the fifth count. PL's Gulin Attard and Alan Picco were elected on the sixth count.

The quota was 471.
