The following are the top stories in Malta's newspapers.

Times of Malta reports that people engaged as part of a jobs scheme are “defrauding the taxpayer” by never showing up for work assigned to them by local councils.

The newspaper also reports on the reasons which led to Sergei Golovkin's resignation from the Wild Birds Regulation unit.

The Malta Independent reports that a petrol station may move from Sliema to an ODZ site near Luqa. It also reports the appointment of Richard Lia to head the Wild Birds Regulation Unit.

MaltaToday says people at risk of poverty have been reduced by 4 per cent in three years.
