Air Malta will start a once weekly service to the Ukrainian capital Kiev in June.
Flights will be on Tuesdays starting from June 19.
Paul Sies, Chief Commercial Officer, said Air Malta was increasing services to Eastern Europe. Ukraine was a new market and the scheduled flights would stimulate more passenger traffic between both countries.
Airline chairman Charles Mangion said Ukraine was a welcome addition to Air Malta’s 33 other destinations for this summer.
Minister of Tourism Konrad Mizzi observed that Ukrainian visitors no longer required a visa to visit Malta and other European countries. This opened up a new passengers market.
"I look forward to see the airline secure more business and seek more opportunities to ensure further success and become the Airline of the Mediterranean.”
