This year’s Malta Pride Week features a week packed with activities ranging from football tournaments to seminars and karaoke culminating in Pride Day on Saturday, September 9.
The theme of this year’s Malta Pride is ‘Celebrate Love, Life and Diversity’.
Malta Pride will celebrate Malta’s number one ranking as the most LGBTIQ-friendly country in Europe (ILGA Rainbow Index), the Marriage Equality Act, diversity within Maltese society and will highlight the need to raise more awareness, improve and tackle LGBTIQ health-related issues.
Pride Day celebrations start on Saturday at 4pm in St George’s Square, Valletta and will include a pride parade, an open-air street party, floats, dancers, street performers and a concert with the participation of top local talent.
During the parade, a giant rainbow flag will be unveiled along with many other surprises.
Pride celebrations continue at the official Malta Pride party at 9pm at Medasia Playa. The party will be headlined by international diva Katherine Ellis performing with Dance Lab Dancers. The line-up includes top local and international deejays while performances continue throughout the night by drag artists.
All income from the pride party will be used to fund Pride 2108 and LGBTIQ community projects.

Tomorrow – Diva Night at the Birdcage Lounge, Rabat at 10pm.
Thursday, September 7 – ‘HIV+ People and Transgender People as Our Colleagues’ conference at the GWU’s Memorial Building in Valletta from 9am to 1.30pm.
Better Together: Mental Well-being and Queer Workshop at the Gozo Ministry, Victoria from 10am to 11.30am.
Friday, September 8 – Pride Eve Party at Rubies Bar, San Ġwann,from 8pm.
Saturday, September 9 – Pride Day parade, street party and concert at St George’s Square, Valletta, from 4pm.
Official Pride Party at Medasia Playa, Sliema, from 9pm.
