If the President gives her assent to the Marriage Equality Act as proposed, on that day, we shall mourn the legal terms man and woman, husband and wife, father and mother, son and daughter, brother and sister. On that day, we shall also mourn Father’s Day and Mother’s Day.

Who gave the honourable members of Parliament from both sides of the House the mandate to legislate the obituary of such legal terms?

Thank heavens the Lord’s prayer, Our Father, is not in the objects and reasons of the Bill.
