Formed back in 1998, Weeping Silence has, over the years, evolved considerably. The band has gone through a number of line-up changes, embracing a number of musical elements, all of which have contributed towards elevating the band to the upper reaches of the local metal scene and beyond.

To date, the band has released three full-length albums, the latest of which is last year’s For the Unsung, which was released via Ravenheart Music, a UK label specialising in female-fronted rock and metal acts.

Released last September, For the Unsung has generated a good number of reviews across the world, tagging the record as a must-have for fans of the genre.

Recorded at SpineSplitter Studio in Malta and produced by Brett Caldas-Lime at Tower Studies in France, the album was the last record to feature vocalists Joe Grech and Rachel Grech, the latter’s voice characterising all three albums to date and lauded by fans and critics alike.

The album also features vocals by Anders Jacobsson of Swedish Doom metal act Draconian.

Towards the end of 2012, Weeping Silence went through another line-up change, with Diane Camenzuli and Dario Pace Taliana coming on board as the band’s new vocalists.

In the few months the current formation has been together, a number of songs for the fourth album have already been written. Apart from its connection to Ravenheart Music, the band is also supported by Limelight Productions for concert bookings in Europe.

In fact, in August, Weeping Silence will be performing on Belgian soil for the first time, when they join the likes of Therion, Haggard, Civil War and several other international acts onstage at the Rommelrock Open Air Festival, with further dates in the Benelux countries also on their schedule.

Before that, however, the band will be performing a number of local gigs, namely in Paola’s Old Prisons on Thursday and at the Pyramid Club in Victoria on June 22.

Weeping Silence have also been confirmed for the 2013 editions of the Xtreme Metal Festival in July and the Malta Doom Metal Festival in October.
