An executive board, meeting under the auspices of the Russian Cultural Centre in Valletta, is currently researching documents, photographs, works of art or similar material connected to Nikolay Krasnov, the Russian architect and artist who settled in Malta in April 1919.

Krasnov reached Malta’s shores together with the renowned Princess Nathalie Poutiatine, the celebrated sculptor Boris Edwards and the painter I. Perov.

Only three years later, however, Krasnov left Malta with his wife and daughter to settle in the new state of Yugoslavia.

During his rather brief stay in Malta he executed decorative and fascinating pictures, mainly watercolours.

Our aim is to gather as much information as possible for a book to be published in October.

Any people who can provide material related to Krasnov are kindly asked to e-mail rog@maltanet.net with details.
