One in four men are perpetrators of domestic abuse, be it physical, financial, sexual, or emotional. These are the stark statistics that have spurred Pink magazine to continue with its campaign to strip down the screens that conceal this form of violence.

Laying it bare, with all its gory details, is encouraging victims to share their stories and take action to change their situation.

In tomorrow's 35th issue, which is distributed with The Times, three women - a mother, her daughter and the best friend - find the strength to recount their nightmare at the hands of the same man, who is still out there and in another relationship.

The article was also spurred by the initiative of MTStyleClinic's Francesca Rizzo and Nirvana Azzopardi, who will be holding a walkathon on October 12 to raise money for Ghabex, Appogg's temporary shelter for abused women and their children.

But not all is doom and gloom out there and it is comforting to know that many couples still manage to bring out the best in one another.

One such relationship is that shared by legendary Italian singer and songwriter Claudio Baglioni and his partner Rossella Barattolo, who supports him and manages his career, working hard, away from the limelight to keep the act together.

She reveals to Pink the ins and outs of her relationship with the popular and successful artiste, giving an insight into his character and proving that behind every powerful man is a woman. When Pink was born three years ago, one of its missions was to celebrate the various facets of the contemporary woman: Strong, engaged, independent and still extremely feminine.

This month, it continues on that road, bringing to light the strength of three women who survived the ordeal of domestic violence, exposing the supportive businesswoman behind the star, and celebrating the beauty of British model Sophie Anderton, the body and face behind the Gossard Wonderbra advertising campaign.

The sultry stunner, who has graced the covers of international magazines and is often the subject of gossip in the tabloid press, lets her gorgeous mane down for an exclusive interview and photo shoot with Pink's team.

Readers are spoilt for choice, with yet another show-stopping fashion photo shoot, photographed on a luxurious superyacht, and featuring the first signs of the change of season in terms of trends.

Health, fitness, beauty, books, food, psychology, vox pops and humour fill the pages, while a medical breakthrough is announced in tomorrow's issue - the innovative use of liposuction for stem cell research and technology is coming to a clinic near you, allowing people to suck out their fat not just for cosmetic reasons but to store it to treat future ailments.

Pink is a monthly magazine, whose executive editors are The Times journalists Fiona Galea Debono and Ariadne Massa. It is published by Allied Newspapers Ltd, printed by Progress Press Ltd, produced by MediaMaker and designed by Helen Cassar Torreggiani and Joseph Schembri.
