Caneira: Valencia's Portugal defender Marco Caneira will be out for around five weeks with a torn thigh muscle picked up on international duty, the Primera Liga club said. He will miss their Champions League Group B matches away to Schalke 04 next week, and at home to Chelsea next month.

Serie B: Italy's Serie B fixtures will take place at the same time tomorrow. No matches will be moved for television due to a dispute over broadcast contracts, league officials told Italian media.

Leicester: Gary Megson is aiming for a repeat of the promotion success he enjoyed as West Brom boss after returning to management with Leicester. The 48-year-old has been out of work since leaving Nottingham Forest in February 2006 but he was unveiled as Martin Allen's successor at a press conference yesterday, becoming the Foxes' fifth manager in 18 months and the fourth since Milan Mandaric took control of the club in February.

Drogba: Chelsea striker Didier Drogba remains an injury concern with a knee problem ahead of his side's Premier League clash against Blackburn tomorrow. The 29-year-old picked up the knock in the club's 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa on September 2, and did not feature for the Ivory Coast in the African Nations Cup qualifiers.

Sinama-Pongolle: Recreativo Huelva striker Florent Sinama-Pongolle could be sidelined for up to six weeks through injury. The Frenchman left training on crutches earlier this week after suffering an injury to the upper part of his left leg and, after undergoing tests, the Spanish clubhave confirmed the 22-year-old is likely to be out for between four and six weeks.

Jean-Claude Killy: Triple Olympic skiing champion Jean-Claude Killy will head the International Olympic Committee's coordination commission to monitor progress for the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics, the IOC said. IOC member Killy, who won praise for leading the inspection team for the Turin 2006 Olympics, was also a co-chairman of the Albertville Olympics in 1992.
