Mdina Knights and Qrendi FC will be playing in the MFA Division Three league next season after their application was approved by the MFA Council last week.

Qrendi FC are no newcomers to the MFA leagues. In season 1996-97 they competed in the Division Two where they finished last from 12 teams with only one point to their credit. That was the last year Qrendi took part in MFA competitions. For Mdina, season 2006-07 will be their first.

The inclusion of Qrendi FC and Mdina Knights has now increased the number of teams in Division Three to 19 after both Luqa St Andrew's and Ta' Xbiex were re-admitted to the MFA competition.

The MFA Council decided that the league should maintain its usual format with all 19 teams facing each other once throughout the season.

The league championship kicks off on September 24.
