Professional beauty therapists and hairdressers will join forces with students in these fields to raise money for those in need in a 36-hour hairdressing and beauty therapy marathon.
The marathon, which will be held later on this month under the theme Love For All Ages, will raise money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society, YMCA and the Deaf Association.
Past editions of the marathon, organised by the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST) Institute of Community Services, raised around Lm110,000, which were passed on to various associations, including the Hospice Movement, Caritas, the Deaf Association, Oasi Foundation, St Patrick's School, Prison Fellowship, the Richmond Foundation and the Mental Health Association.
An entertainment programme will be running throughout the 36 hours of the marathon, which will be broadcast live on Education 22.
During the launch of the marathon yesterday, an appeal was made to people who are not able to attend on March 21 and 22 to give donations by making telephone pledges, details of which will be available at a later date.
