A 26-year-old man from Zebbug was critically injured this afternoon in an explosion in a garage at his home town. A 55 year-old man who was with him was also hurt.

The cause of the blast is not known. Both men were working on repairing a door. One of them is believed to have been using a blow torch.

A magisterial inquiry is under way.
