Must the price always be indicated?

Yes. You have the right to clear and correct any ambiguous information about the price of goods for sale, so that you can make an informed decision based on a simple comparison of prices.

How should the price be indicated?

Prices of all goods for sale must be clearly displayed in bold print or written on the price label or the price mark on the shelf.

It should be easily identifiable and clearly legible and must include VAT and any other taxes or charges.

Are there any exceptions to these rules?

Yes. The requirement to have a price indication does not apply to a number of instances such as:

• goods sold when providing a service
• goods sold by auction
• works of art or antiquities.
