A year for animal care
Let's make this year as good as we can for the animals on the Maltese islands.
Naturally we all look after our pets as best as we can and make sure they have good care if they are sick, or when we go away and cannot take them with us. But we can also look out for wild and stray animals too and take the trouble to make a report to the right authorities if we see, or hear, anything that seems wrong.
Ill-treated animals have been rescued, lost or stolen pets returned to their worried owners and homeless animals given to loving owners, all because people make a little time to pay attention is they see or hear animal behaving unnaturally.
Share your stories
If you have a story or experience you would like to share about animals we'd like to hear form you.
Perhaps you help at an animal sanctuary, or have given a home to a stray cat or dog. Maybe you belong to a bird or animals welfare organisation, or your school encourages you to look out for animals.
Share your story with Junior News readers. You can send either a letter or e-mail, but be sure to include your name, age and address and any pictures, either drawings or photos, that you like.
See you next week
