Neptunes swimmer Amy Micallef was at the forefront of last weekend's Age-Group Swimming Meeting, the first of 2010, as she set two national age-group breaststroke marks in the 'B' category.

Swimming in the 100 metres event, the 12-year-old Micallef improved the 1996 time set by Ruth Flores Martin by 2.90 seconds when clocking 1 minute 25.55 seconds.

Later she went on to make new inroads in the 50-metre race when registering a time of 39.26 seconds, one-tenth of a second faster than Flores Martin did 14 years ago.
