Young Maltese singer Naomi Roberts on Sunday placed second in the international singing festival Asterisks International, held in Prilep, Macedonia.

Naomi, 13, represented Malta with the song A Wonderful Life, composed by her voice teacher Priscilla Psaila (Kaya) and authored by Christopher Azzopardi.

This was the second time that Naomi, who has been singing for the past four years, represented Malta abroad.

Last year she won the Verdinote International Song Festival in Battipaglia, Italy.

A total of 10 countries were represented in the Prilip festival, which is held annually.

Naomi, who was chosen to represent Malta by Stardust Promotions, first sang in the semi-finals on Saturday, when an international jury put her through to Sunday's finals.

Some 25 children aged between five and 14 took part.
