RTK journalist Sabrina Agius filed an application before the Industrial Tribunal today claiming she was discriminated against by the Church media company in the selection of the editor for RTK Radio and Il-Gens Illum.

Ms Agius said she had been treated differently from other people because of her political views and union affiliation and had been subjected to bullying, intimidation and harassment by her superiors in an attempt to make her resign, pressure, which she had resisted.

Ms Agius asked the tribunal to order RTK to pay her compensation.

In a statement, the GWU described this as being a case of political discrimination. It said Ms Agius is being assisted by the General Workers' Union Professionals Finance and Services Section and the GWU's Legal Council Dr Aron Mifsud Bonnici.

Meanwhile, Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando in a facebook comment today, said the Church is an institution which should be the epitome of social justice. Ms. Agius, he said, is renowned for her pro-divorce beliefs.
