Parliament will discuss the transfer of dockyard lands to Palumbo SpA and the yacht yard to the Manoel Island Consortium in plenary session on May 6, after the House Audit Committee yesterday failed to agree on the draft resolutions moved by Finance Minister Tonio Fenech.

The meeting, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Tonio Borg, took just over an hour in which the opposition side, led by Finance spokesman Charles Mangion, questioned the implications of the two transfers. Most of the sitting was taken up with the concession of the dockyard to Palumbo.

Lack of unanimity in the committee was almost a foregone conclusion.
