The Labour Party insisted today that Air Malta workers who are on reduced hours should not be prejudiced during the airline's restructuring.

MPs Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca and Justyne Caruana said workers should not suffer because they were benefiting from family-friendly measures aimed at enabling them to care for their family.

This would contrast sharply with family values which the government claimed it held dear, as well as the recently-enacted amendments to the Social Security Act which said that those who benefited from family-friendly measures should not have their pension rights affected.
