Having been born into a very staunch Labour family and married into a Nationalist family, I have always had difficulty voting in elections. I had come to question what I had been taught and out of loyalty to both sides I have in the past voted for the two parties, thus rendering my conscience clean.

For this election I had decided not to vote at all but the campaign has forced me to rethink my decision.

Hearing so many harsh words from Labour's candidates, sparking so much anger, has made me think twice about who I will be voting for this time. What will happen if Labour is elected to govern? Will all those who are not red become outcasts, considered to be the black sheep of the country? For this is the impression I get from hearing Justyne Caruana, Charles Mangion, Jason Micallef and others speaking their vision for our beloved country.

I certainly do not wish such a situation for my children to live in. For this reason, I shall certainly not vote Labour this time around, as a government is there for all the Maltese and not just for the reds!
