The three Nationalist Party (PN) councillors, from the tiny Gozitan village of Qala, took a courageous stand when they stated publicly, in a recently published newsletter, that they were against the much-discussed project at Hondoq ir-Rummien, even though their party leader and Prime Minister declared that he was in favour of this development. Labourites might interpret this divergence in opinion as an internal split within the party. Yet, the beautiful thing in this otherwise thorny issue is that, contrary to other "major" parties in Malta, everyone within the PN has got the sacred right to openly voice one's opinion.
These councillors have shown that, for them, the well-being of their village is far more important than anything else and for this they should enjoy our full support and approval.
