Third place went to Germany who beat Croatia 10-8. Greece won the 5/6th place play-off against Russia 14-9.

In a bid to make the competition more spectacular for sponsors and spectators, this year's World League comprised a preliminary round in June and a semi-final round, in Canada and the US, between July 6 and 10.

The final round was played in Belgrade.
