• A talk entitled ‘Straw, Matrices and Desire: Luis Bunuel and Peter Serracino Inglott’ by Daniel Massa, will be held tomorrow at 6.30p.m. in Lecture Theatre 2, as part of the Faculty of Arts’ Literature and Comparison Research Seminar Series.

Prof. Massa is in the process of completing a biography of Fr Peter Serracino Inglott.

• An event entitled ‘Volunteering forum: Me... an active citizen?’ will take place on Tuesday from noon until 1 p.m. in the University Quadrangle.

It is organised by the Chaplaincy in view that 2011 is the European year dedicated to Voluntary Service, and will include the participation of the NGOs St Jeanne Antide Foundation, Get Up Stand Up, and the Third World Group.

• A total of 45 student organisations will take part in KSU Organisations’ Days between Tuesday and Friday to promote their specific aims and encourage students to join and take part. Student organisations offer participants unique opportunities to experience team work, active citizenship, personal achievement and acquire leadership skills.

• AIESEC Malta is organising a ‘Global Village’ on Friday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the University Quadrangle.

This is the year’s biggest promotion of international student exchanges and work-related internships in 110 countries across the globe where AIESEC, the world’s largest student organisation for university students and recent graduates, is present.

The aim of the Global Village is to spread awareness of the different cultures around the world, and encourage students to experience an exchange or internship.

It includes free food and the opportunity of taking part in a treasure hunt and winning one of Nokia’s most recent 3G mobiles and other gifts from Vodafone.
