The Union Ħaddiema Magħqudin is threatening industrial action at health centre pharmacies unless an agreement which had been reached is honoured by Friday.

The union said in a statement that when the government wanted to introduce the ‘pharmacy of your choice’ scheme, the UĦM had protested that it had not been consulted on what was to become of employees and an agreement had eventually been reached on their transfer.

However, this agreement was not being honoured and there was a shortage of pharmacists at health centres as a result.

So unless the situation was rectified pharmacies at health centres were to start opening at 9 a.m. instead of at 7.45 a.m. as from April 1.
