Two young men were charged with assaulting police officers who went to a Swieqi apartment after receiving reports that there was noise there yesterday.

Clyde Montesin, 20, from Zabbar and his 16-year-old friend from Tarxien pleaded not guilty to threatening, assaulting and disobeying police and slightly injuring a woman police officer.

Mr Montesin alone was also charged with the illegal possession of a flick-knife.

Both were granted bail against a personal guarantee of €5,000.

Police Inspector Daryl Borg prosecuted.

Lawyers Mariella Said Casa and Annalise Debono represented the young men.
