Daniel Oliva, 20 of Msida was today fined €700 and conditionally discharged after he admitted in court to having stolen a total of €700 in cash and other items from a greengrocer in Swatar. The cash was stolen over five occasions from a grocery store over five different periods.

Mr Oliva was arraigned with a 21 year old woman who admitted her part in the robberies and received a similar punishment. The court ordered a ban on the publication of her name because she might lose her job.

The court said it had noted that the two had regretted their actions and had a clean police record. T
