Everyone's idea of what makes a dream home is different. For some, it is a minimalist, monochrome space with high-tech gadgets, while for others, the more cosy and colourful the space is, the better.

In the June issue of Homeworks, out with The Sunday Times tomorrow, three very different dream homes are featured.

The first is a new property in Għargħur, which architecture firm Spacestudio took over while in shell form. The property has been finished to the highest possible specifications and is spectacular in its use of natural materials, sense of space and great design.

Interior designer Pippa Toledo allowed the magazine into her own home to view the update of her living room and hall, which were inspired by grey velvet.

The third home is in Għarb, a blend of terraced house and house of character. It combines the owner's desire for a character home with plentiful light - a difficult combination to find - alongside two magnificent outdoor spaces and the piece de resistance, a black swimming pool.

Can one create a dream home on a budget? A most definite yes is Homeworks' answer.

Also featured are spectacular, but simple, flower arrangements for summer entertaining, a perfect small garden and a mouth-watering recipe for a sweet pizza.
