As part of its annual cultural calendar, the Teatru tal-Opra Aurora is presenting The Leone Grand Christmas Show, on December 18 at 8 p.m.

Running into its third consecutive year, the production is aiming to further increase audiences and glamorous spectacle.

The Leone Grand Christmas Show is a musical variety show, in which the Leone Band, conducted by Colin Attard, assumes the role of a festival wind orchestra accompanying the whole show throughout. It is joined by a large scale children's and youths' choir, dancers from various studios, singers and stand-up comedians. In fact, last year's experimental satirical comic relieves are expected to add colour and life once again to the show.

This year's theme revolves around the Christmas colours, which go beyond the traditional red and green. Every colour comes with its own festive thrill. But more than this, the event aims to tint, with a touch of jolly colour, the Christmas of the beneficiaries of the Malta Community Chest Fund (MCCF).

Supported by the Victoria Local Council, all proceeds from the entrance will go in aid of the MCCF – the charity trust of HE the President of Malta, under whose patronage, this show is being produced.

The Leone Grand Christmas Show is an event for all the family, on the last Saturday before Christmas. It is also an occasion for the Leone Philharmonic Society to host its guests and friends and exchange its Christmas greetings, while sending out a stronger message that voluntary action in the cultural sphere, can also lead to noble philanthropic causes.

This is the second philanthropic activity by the Leone Band this year, as the repeat performance of Leone Goes Pop (3rd edition) in Marsalforn garnered €1500 in aid of Puttinu Cares foundation.
