Contributions have appeared in The Sunday Times suggesting that Enemalta had avoidable losses of €16 million, which could even be closer to €27 million.

What sort of efficiency and control do we have in this country? Criticism has emanated from different sources. Why should those responsible not fork out the bill?

What are the highest authorities doing to supervise and control such an important state corporation?

Why should the common citizen shoulder a burden because the powers that be fail to perform their duties? Why should such powers continue to receive their remuneration?

This smacks of robbing the Exchequer.

In the 60 years of government administrative experience, I hardly ever noticed such inadmissable failures. It is a disgrace to our country and its citizens.
