Gozo SPCA is having an Open Day and Christmas fair on Sunday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. It will be held near the Gozo SPCA shelter, at the football training ground at the back of The Duke shopping mall in Victoria. There will be stalls selling Christmas cards, calendars, bric-a- brac, Christmas gifts, preserves, plants, books, etc.

There will be pony rides and balloon modelling for children and the public will be able to meet the lovely dogs, cats and kittens which are available for rehoming. All the animals on show are neutered and vaccinated.

Civil Protection Department personnel, who so often help Gozo SPCA in the rescue of cats, dogs and birds in distress, will give a demonstration. Vetenary Frank Galea will answer questions about pets and especially about the benefits of neutering.

The Gozo branch of the Red Cross will also be giving displays during the day.

A neutering van, jointly funded by the Ministry for Rural Affairs and the Blue Cross, Britain's pet charity, will be launched.

The draw for the next village to be chosen for the free-owned pet neutering project, funded by the Blue Cross, will be held during the day. All villages that send a representative are eligible to take part in the draw.
