Thailand's Asian Games medallists will get a slice of a near $4 million prize fund and an invite to a special party hosted by the country's prime minister.

Interim premier Surayud Chulanont will throw a bash for successful athletes on Monday, where gold medallists will be awarded one million baht ($28,300) each.

Silver medallists in Doha will receive 500,000 baht while bronze medal winners will pick up 200,000 baht each.

Thailand has a tradition of rewarding its Olympic and Asian Games gold medallists with large sums of cash.
